Affiliate Disclosure

In 2015, the Federal Trade Commission released their new rules for Disclosure Compliance. These rules are set in place to ensure that readers or viewers of web media (blogs, Youtube videos, etc.) know if the blogger/presenter is sponsored, endorsed, or partnered with a different company. In blog terms, the readers need to know if the blogger is making money by sharing a link or product.

In compliance with the FTC guidelines, please assume the following about links and posts on this site: Any/all of the links are affiliate links of which I receive a small compensation from sales of certain items.

What are affiliate links?

Purchases are made on external affiliate company websites: When a reader clicks on an affiliate link located on .com to purchase an item, the reader buys the item from the seller directly (not from Amazon and/or other companies pay a small commission or other compensation for promoting their website or products through their affiliate program.

Prices are exactly the same for you if your purchase is through an affiliate link or a non-affiliate link. You will not pay more by clicking through to the link.

I use two main types of affiliate programs:

1. Amazon affiliate links. is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon properties including, but not limited to, Amazon offers a small commission on products sold through their affiliate links. Each of your purchases via our Amazon affiliation links supports our cause at no additional cost to you.

If a blogger links to an Amazon product (with a special code for affiliates embedded in the link), and a reader places an item in their “shopping cart” through that link within 24 hours of clicking the link, the blogger gets a small percentage of the sale. Amazon links are not “pay per click.” If you click on the product link and stay around Amazon and purchase something else, however, I will get commission on that sale.

Anytime you see a link that looks like… or… it can be assumed that it is an Amazon affiliate link.

2. Product affiliate links.

These affiliate links work the same way: if you click the link and buy the product, then the blogger gets a percentage of the sale or some other type of compensation. Things like e-book bundles, e-courses, and online packages are usually affiliate links, as well. Again, prices are not different if you use these affiliate links. You will not pay more by clicking through to the link. These links are not “pay per click”, unless otherwise denoted.

What about sponsored content?

I do not write sponsored posts. I want to bring you real, unbiased information. However, if a post is sponsored by a company and it is a paid sponsorship, I will disclose this clearly in the beginning of the post.

About Me

Hi I’m Debbie, I’m a wife and mom of 3 wonderful boys.  I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit, have had many hobbies and tried many avenues to find a way to make extra money.

I started out years and years ago with my husband making Christmas wreaths and decorations, which we sold out of our basement. This was before our children came along, and we worked really hard but made very little money. Next I was introduced to an MLM Company which again I pulled my husband into. At this point we had two of our three boys. For years, we spent lots of weekends away from our children working the MLM business. Instead of making money we were going further in debt buying products to demo, and spending money for travel. We finally gave up because the time away from our children and money spent building the business did not reap the rewards as we were led to believe.

In 2010, I had my first interaction with building a website, I was making jewelry, and I was encouraged by friends and family to sell my jewelry online. I knew nothing about building a website, but went to a seminar and purchased a website at a very high cost. To build the website, you could follow a book and build it yourself, or the company would build it for you….at an additional cost! So I built it myself and then found out that I had to get my website ranked. The company would sell me a package to do the keyword searches that I would need. It turned out that all the help they promised, and all the tools that I was to have access to were actually not included in what I had already paid but were all additional cost. Meanwhile, I was not making jewelry because I was spending so much time figuring out how to build the website. So once again, I decided it was better to just cut my losses.

My interest in Affiliate Marketing came from an email I received to watch a webinar. The person doing the webinar was offering “help” to build an Affiliate Marketing business, if you were one of the first 25 to sign up it was going to cost a thousand dollars, after the first 25 then the cost jumped to almost three thousand dollars (yikes)! I’ve been suckered into enough stuff to know that there was no way I was going to sign up. The information in the webinar did peek my interest though so I started my own online research. That is where I stumbled upon Wealthy Affiliate. Sign-up is free, they teach website building and help people like us create successful online businesses. Thanks to their help, I was able to create this website, and I want to help others create their websites with ease so that they can get on with building their affiliate marketing business. Wealthy Affiliate is more like a community than a company, because you get the help of other members too, there is so much giving and sharing (not like your typical 9-5 job). Try it out yourself if you are interested in creating an awesome website and making money online click here.

First and foremost I want to help others learn how to create a website that gets ranked high in the search engines, without investing huge sums of money. The cool thing and why I am so excited about Wealthy Affiliate is that there are no up sales, they tell you what you get with the Starter Membership and with the Premium Membership, and all the extras that come along with each of those platforms don’t cost you extra.

If you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.

All the best,

What is Affiliate Marketing?  It is when an online merchant partners with an website owner to help sell their products by placing advertisements for products or services  on their site.  When a customer buys a product based on an ad from your website, you are paid a commission by the Merchant.  Amazon and Walmart are two examples of Affiliate Marketing Companies.

This form of marketing can be very profitable, but it requires work and some people just don’t know where to start.

When I was learning about affiliate marketing, I knew I had to have a website, but where to start.  I found an online company called Wealthy Affiliates  they offer free membership options,  expert advice, training, resources, and they have a community of affiliates that are willing to share their experiences. I became a member and am glad I did!

Wealthy Affiliates will show you how to build your website, teach you about using social media, creating customer databases through social media interaction, and much more.  In addition you get 2 free websites
